Ceramic 'Little Monk' decorations which are available in two styles: tall monk and short monk.
 
This type of ceramic decoration is called a 'tea figurine' in the Chinese tea ceremony. This refers to decorations that are placed on the tea tray when tasting tea. 'Tea figurines' are often made from clay in Yixing Ware. Drinkers pour the remaining tea or leaf-rinsing water onto them, an action known as ‘raising the figurine’. These little figurines gradually absorb tea over months or years and their appearance becomes glossier. They can also be used for general decorations.
