Lacquerware is a traditional decorative art from East Asia which refers to wood or resin products coated with special materials on the surface, often inlaid with precious metals or shells.
This tray plate comes from Japan’s most famous lacquer manufacturer YAMANAKA. It is hand produced by experienced craftsmen. It's painted with a traditional Japanese red-crowned crane pattern, also known as 'fairy crane' and it often featured in myths and legends in China, Japan and Korea. The surface is inlaid with gold leaf and you have an option of black or red.
