Using a hot stamping technique, the cover and title page of these notebooks are printed with masterpieces of ancient Chinese paintings. About 3/4 of the inner pages are blank paper, and the remaining 1/4 pages are dotted paper. The last page contains a detailed introduction of the painting (in both Chinese and English).

The two paintings are:

1. Auspicious Cranes, created by Emperor Huizong (1082-1135) of the Song Dynasty (960-1279);

2. A Thousand Li of river and mountains, created by Wang Ximeng (1096-1119) of the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
